The Flame That Never Dies
Camp Avoda has many traditions that are passed down each summer from counselor
to camper (most Avoda counselors once were Avoda campers). These include the "chip ceremony"
bonfire, at which longtime Avodians share their feelings and memories of camp; the trophy case,
which enshrines the glories of past and present Avodians; and sharing meals as a bunk.
The highlight of each summer is Color War, a week-long competition that divides the
camp into Blue and White - to be reunited at the end.
